Inductive Encoders for Mobile Machinery.
Compact inductive encoders for robust rotational position feedback — available as an incremental encoder or as an absolute bus encoder with CANopen, SAE J1939 or RS485.
Choose the Signal Around the Machine.
The II36-1 and IBS36-1 combine the same compact inductive sensing concept with two different approaches to position feedback.
II36-1 provides incremental pulse output for controllers that determine position and movement locally.
IBS36-1 provides absolute single-turn position and is available with bus communication, including CANopen, SAE J1939 and RS485.
Incremental or Absolute.
Select the encoder architecture according to what the machine controller needs: pulse information from II36-1, or actual angular position directly over the machine bus from IBS36-1.
II36-1
The incremental version is intended for applications where the machine controller processes encoder pulses and derives movement, direction and position internally.
IBS36-1
The absolute version provides actual single-turn angular position directly after power-up and can communicate position over the machine network.
Absolute Position Directly on CAN.
IBS36-1 can provide absolute rotational position directly to the machine control system without an additional analogue interface or local pulse counter.
CANopen provides a standard CAN-based solution, while SAE J1939 is available for mobile machinery and can be adapted to the requirements of the machine architecture.
Bus Options
Designed for Machine Integration.
Inductive Sensing
Contactless inductive position sensing provides a robust measurement principle for demanding mechanical environments.
Hollow Shaft
Ø10 mm hollow shaft enables direct integration around an existing rotating shaft without requiring a conventional shaft coupling.
Compact Format
The approximately Ø36 mm encoder platform provides a compact solution for machine mechanisms where installation space is limited.
Harsh Environment
Temperature, vibration, shock and EMC specifications make the platform relevant for mobile and off-highway machinery.
Compact Around the Shaft.
The encoder family uses a compact hollow-shaft design intended for direct integration into rotating machine mechanisms.
Built for Demanding Machinery.
The environmental performance is one of the key reasons this encoder platform is particularly relevant for mobile machinery and harsh industrial applications.
Position Feedback in Mobile Machinery.
The II36-1 and IBS36-1 are relevant for rotating machine functions where compact integration and reliable angular feedback are required. The CAN/J1939 IBS36-1 is particularly suited to distributed mobile-machine architectures.
Steering Angle
Rotational feedback for steering mechanisms and steering-related machine functions.
Articulation Angle
Position measurement in articulated vehicles and rotating chassis joints.
Boom & Arm Position
Angular feedback for booms, arms, attachments and articulated machine mechanisms.
Rotary Actuators
Position feedback for actuators, valves and other rotating machine components.
