Compact Control.
Precise Input.
Industrial thumb joysticks for armrests, handles, remote controls and compact operator interfaces — selected around available space, required movement, electrical interface and operator feel.
Thumb joysticks are often selected where panel space and installation depth are limited, but size is only one part of the decision.
Required axes, operating angle, interface, redundancy, mechanical feel and the way the operator actually uses the control all influence which joystick is best suited to the application.
Comtrium offers several compact joystick platforms with distinctly different strengths — from extremely small Hall-based controls to proven alternatives with different knob and operator-interface concepts.
Different strengths.
One purpose.
When every millimetre matters.
An exceptionally compact industrial thumb joystick for applications where installation space is extremely limited.
More control. Still compact.
A compact Hall-based thumb joystick combining a small footprint with greater movement and flexible electrical integration.
Proven compact control.
A compact joystick alternative where operator feel, knob selection and a proven mechanical concept are key considerations.
Designed around the available millimetres.
T10 is the choice when the available installation envelope is one of the primary design constraints.
Its extremely compact mechanical package allows proportional 1- or 2-axis control to be integrated into small handles, armrests, handheld controls and other tightly packaged operator interfaces.
More movement. More integration options.
T11 remains a very compact thumb joystick while providing a broader control envelope for demanding operator interfaces.
It is suited to applications where the operator needs a little more movement and feedback while the overall package still needs to remain small.
Different operator feel. Same compact philosophy.
Not every compact control application is solved by selecting the smallest possible joystick.
S25 provides another approach where mechanical feel and the operator interface can be important parts of the selection. Different knob concepts allow the control to be adapted around how the operator actually interacts with the machine.
This makes S25 particularly interesting when a proven compact mechanical solution is preferred over simply minimising the installation envelope.
Size is only the starting point.
Installation Space
Available diameter and installation depth often determine which joystick architectures are possible.
Movement & Feel
Deflection angle and mechanical feel directly influence how accurately and comfortably the operator can control the machine.
Electrical Interface
Analog and digital interfaces need to match the machine electronics and the required level of integration.
Operator Interface
Knob shape, grip and physical placement can be just as important as the joystick electronics underneath.
Three ways to solve compact control.
| T10 | T11 | S25 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best suited for | Minimum installation space | Compact versatility | Operator feel / proven solution |
| Axes | 1 / 2 | 1 / 2 | Configuration dependent |
| Sensing | Hall | Hall | Configuration dependent |
| Key strength | Approx. 13 mm depth | More movement and flexibility | Knob and operator-interface options |
Compact controls for demanding machines.
Thumb joysticks are particularly useful where proportional control needs to be integrated directly into a handle, armrest, remote control or compact operator panel.
